The Route to Mera Lighthouses allows us to enjoy the marine cliffs, the islets and the coastal flora and fauna. It is an area of great geo-morphological and landscape interest, catalogued as Site of Community Importance (SCI) within the Natura 2000 Network and a Natural Monument.
Along the route one can enjoy the variety of fauna on the coast of Dexo, particularly the marine ornithological species. The Yellow-legged Seagull, the European Shag or the Peregrine Falcon are some of the birds that fly over these coastal cliffs. The area occupied by coastal shrubs also provides a habitat for bird species such as the Dartford Warblers, and mammals such as rabbits, very abundant in the whole area around Mera Lighthouse.
